How to Use Your New My Best Buy Credit Card on

Congratulations on your new My Best Buy Credit Card! I’m sure you’ve had your eyes on a purchase and were debating on how you would pay for it when you finished the application for this credit card. Now that you’ve been approved, the question stands: How do I use it before I’ve received the physical card? 

While shopping in store, we should be able to look up your new My Best Buy Credit Card account with your ID and a few details from you. As for, you should simply be able to save your My Best Buy Credit Card to your profile as your primary form of payment. To do so, follow the steps outlined below:



  1. Log into your account, and on our Credit Cards page, click "Check your application status".

  2. You should be redirected to a Citibank, N.A. website, as they are the issuer of your Best Buy Credit Card account, where you will need to enter your information and click “Submit”.

  3. This should bring you to a page showing your application status. It should have some verbiage, such as “Congratulations! You are approved!” and an option to “Continue” down in the bottom right. Select “Continue”.

  4. This should bring you to a page showing how you may shop online or in-store that day. Click “Continue”.

  5. This will redirect you back to the website. Click “Continue”.

  6. You should then be brought to a page presenting the option to save your card as the primary form of payment. Make sure you check the box “Make this my primary card” and then select “Add Card to My Account”.



Voila! Your credit card should be saved to your profile and available during checkout.
