well the only thing i'm aware of is they have the same cover art only the UK does it right and theirs has Season 12 on the cover art. which is exactly what it is where the US has season 1. go figure, i dunno how much you know the dvd's of the Original show where we in the states had black cases on i'd say 99% of them and the UK had greay with the tardis interior and they had booklets where in the states we didn't.
i would assume they are the same but i do hope we get booklets as well this time around. the other question will these be sold in stores and if so for how long or don't they know that yet?

Hello Whovians,
Thanks for your continued interest in picking Tom Baker Season 1 from Best Buy. I have checked with my partners and have some answers for both of you.
This will be sold in store beginning June 19, but the question of for low long will depend on a number of factors, so I'm afraid I couldn't speculate on that.
Regrettably this set does not include the booklet.
Thanks again for reaching out to us on the forum. Let us know if you have additional questions at this time.
All the best,

You guys have got to get better about stocking these kinds of products. If you don't stock it, we can't buy it, then everyone has to go to Amazon who I will not support.
When I walk into the Woodlands Bestbuy tomorrow I expect this to be on the shelf, if not I'm blowing a gasket and likely not shopping with Bestbuy anymore.
This is as ridiculous as the fact that at Christmas time you can't find a Mannheim Steamroller CD in stock at any BB store. Again, if you don't stock it of course it won't sell!!!
This idea that no one wants to buy stuff in-stores is absurd and stupid. We can't buy it because you wan't stock it! You guys are literally making it a cake-walk for Amazon to put retailers out of business...

i feel your pain man on having them not stock stuff i want. sadly they on July 1st unless i'm told otherwise on here are going to stop selling cd's for good.
as for Doctor who, in case you are worried about them saying limited supply this is taken from a doctor who site i belong to and it's said by Steve Roberts himself. the man who works on these things
It's not limited in any normal use of the phrase.
Basically, the cost of the posh packaging means that for that packaging to be financially viable, it needs to be ordered in batches of, say, 2,000. So as long as there is enough demand to justify printing another 2,000 copies then the posh packaging will stay in production. It's only when sales get to the point where they don't expect to sell another 2,000 copies quickly enough to justify the warehousing costs that they'll possibly fall back to a more standard plastic packaging which can be had economically in batches of 500.
You are in absolutely no danger of missing the boat here.
in case anyone anyone on here gets worried.

Well, I managed to order the first three Doctor Who Blu-Ray releases. I've now got Tom Baker seasons 1 and 7 plus Peter Davison season 1. Some from Best Buy and some from Amazon depending on how fast Best Buy could sell it. I'm trying not to use Amazon and support Best Buy, but when things never show up I go looking elsewhere.
What is the Best Buy routine for listing pre-orders? I've been looking to pre-order "Jon Pertwee Season 4" for a while but still cannot find a listing for it. If this goes on too long I'll just get it from Amazon. It comes out October 15.
I already pre-ordered "Colin Baker Season 2" on Amazon. It doesn't come out until December 2019, but they had a snafu with the pre-order price so I'm getting it for $44 instead of $69.99. Amazon must have realized the mistake because the title is not currently available for pre-order.

i have no idea, the only one i have so far is Tom Baker season 1 aka Season 12 what i will prolly do is just get the rest of them at Amazon UK since they are releasing them in the way they should put them out, it's not best buys fault at all that they do it that way i never get why they are calling each doctor season 2 or season 1 when season 19 is Peter Davidson's 1st season and Season 18 is Tom Baker's Last season.
honestly i think for those who are new to Classic who that it would be even more confusing on how it's done rather than just say this is season 12 over season 1. most things i want i do get from best buys but they don't have everything i want and it's not their fault at all no store has everything, hell even amazon doesn't have everything either

Be careful getting the UK Region B releases. I assume you have a multi-region Blu-Ray player and a monitor that accepts the correct frames per second. But the other thing to consider is that Season 12 sold-out in the UK. I think they upped the quantity on later releases but that Season 12 release may never be seen again. You may not want to wait 4 years and assume you could still get all the UK releases at a reasonable price.
Why couldn't North America just have Season 12, Season 19, Season 18? Too intimiating starting a range at Season 12? Not sure if casual shoppers actually see these sets on the shelves. I know I tried to get the Peter Davison release in-store a week after release and couldn't find one. If they're just selling to the hard-core fans then I'd have kept it Season 12 to match the UK.

yes i do have a region free blu-ray player, i have planet of the spiders, curse of Fenric on dvd from there and they play just fine. i also have True Blood season 3 on blu-ray from the UK as well

So I've been looking for the Jon Pertwee Season 4 Blu ray set on the Best Buy webiste.
It wasn't showing up, and then suddenly a couple weeks before the Oct 15, 2019 release it finally appeared! I waited a week before ordering and the listing on Best Buy vanished. And now a month after the release and it still hasn't appeared.
Did Best Buy not carry this release? I can understand not stocking stores, but I thought I could still order it online. I'm trying to cut down on Amazon and support brick and mortar stores. Strangely enough, the Dec 3 listing for Colin Baker Season 2 is up ahead of time so I can't understand why Best Buy would skip Jon Pertwee.
