Re: doctor who Blu-ray

Hello doctorwho39,

It's always a pleasure to run into a fellow whovian. What did you think of the Christmas special?

I'm afraid I don't have much information for you at this time, as there is no listing for Season 12 at this time, and the SKU you referenced for the Tom Baker Season One set is not available to order at this time.

I have reached out to my partners here at the corporate office to see if I can learn more. I'll update this thread when I have a reply, but in the meantime I'd encourage you to check out all things Who here.

Cheers,

Hello doctorwho39,

I'm happy to report that the Tom Baker Season One is up for pre-order today. You can find it here.

There's no word on the 12th season at this time, though, so I'lljust have to again suggest you watch for updates in the near future.

All the best,

Re: doctor who Blu-ray

thanks for the update but here's something you may not know, Season 12 is Tom Bakers 1st season. much like Peter Capaldi's last season was season 10. aka Season 36 i  think since the as i like to call it the Current show since it's not new anymore the 1st season when it came back is actually season 27 but i think they called it season one so people won't get confused when it came back.

Season i think 19 is Peter Davidson's 1st season for another example. i'm not gonna post them all but you get the idea.

i just find it odd that they decided to call that season one and not season 12 that's all. anyways thanks for the update though, on that link it says it comes out March 18th i wonder when Cover Art will be announced?

Re: doctor who Blu-ray

Hi doctorwho39,

Thank you for that clarification. I had believed you to be referring to two different seasons. In any event, hopefully we receive the cover art soon!

Re: doctor who Blu-ray

Well, most of the other retailers now have this Doctor Who: Tom Baker Complete First Season up for pre-order.  They've got a genuine UPC barcode (883929620111) for it and everything so it must be official.  No one has the North American cover art yet since it's being sold as Doctor Who:  The Collection Season 12 in the rest of the world and will need a graphics change to match the advertised name. I'll avoid linking to the offical BBC website that shows the cover art for the rest of the world.  But there are now at least half a dozen big name chains/onlines that have had this up for pre-order for at least a week with a June 2018 release date.

I was hoping to order it here through Best Buy.  The BBC team that restored the episodes are saying that they need strong pre-orders on this title to justify continuing the series on Blu Ray.  So pre-order now rather than wait to pick it up in-store later on if you're a fan who'd like to see more seasons released.  Any information on when Best Buy will start taking pre-orders again?

Thanks

Re: doctor who Blu-ray

Greetings, BenOH,

Welcome to our forums!  There are a lot of Doctor Who fans who not only visit, but moderate our forums as well, so I imagine there’s quite an interest in the Doctor Who: Tom Baker Complete First Season on Blu-ray.

While we won’t be able to disclose any release dates or inventory levels publicly on our forums, I recommend keeping an eye on BestBuy.com for any updates regarding its availability.

Thanks for posting,

Re: doctor who Blu-ray

Hello Best Buy,

With about a week to go your website finally has this set up for pre-order. I notice that your "image forthcoming" has switched over to a version that looks remarkably similar to the UK limited edition packaging rather than the standard blue plastic Blu Ray case that other retailers have been showing for several weeks. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/doctor-who-tom-baker-the-complete-first-season-blu-ray/6255024.p?skuId=...

Does this indicate that Best Buy is going to carry over the limited edition packaging and booklet from the UK?

Thanks.
