Last night, beloved Patrick Swayze lost his bout with cancer. He was 57 years old. I can't help but have fond memories when I think about how much his movies meant in my childhood. Probably my biggest moment that I can recall was his movie "Dirty Dancing". When I started working at one movie theater branch, it opened, and it played for almost an entire year until my final week at that particular branch. I loved that movie!
So many oldies, but goodies. Tell me what your favorite Patrick Swayze movie is?

Laugh at me if you must, but my favorite Patrick Swayze film was Too Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar. It was a fun, funny, and brave movie and Swayze carried it from potential frivolity into a "serious" modern fantasy. Only Swayze, of the main actors (
Denzel Washington Wesley Snipes and John Leguizamo), never "winked" at the audience to let them know he was in on the joke. It was a stellar performance in a highly underrated movie.

Don't be surprised if Whoopi shows up on the View looking terrible babbling incoherently about how she heard Patrick talking to her the night before and constantly singing "Oh Henry the 8th I Am".
In all seriousness though, Patrick Swayze may you rest peacefully.
