Hello everyone!
I apologize that you're all still experiencing these issues, and I'd like to provide you with the information that I have at this point.
Unfortunately, our teams have been unable to recreate this issue so far, so they are waiting for some of the defective discs that have been returned so far to get to where they can be tested to hopefully figure out what the underlying problem is. In the meantime, if you would like to contact Lionsgate directly, they can be reached at 1-877-230-2756. Contacting them may be useful so that they can better determine what is going on, and they may also be able to provide you with some additional assistance.
I know this isn't the detailed answer I'm sure everyone was hoping for, but I will continue to pass on any new information that I get.
Thanks for your patience, and please feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Any updates yet? I just took a chance and bought a copy on the 28th. It won't work on a Dynex, LG, or Panasonic player(all have up to date firmware). I would exchange it, but it was the last copy in the store. And if I return it, I lose the upgrade coupon I used on it. Plus it seems like Lionsgate put out a lot of bad discs and it should be on them to replace it.
I haven't heard any official answers posted from Lionsgate. I exchanged my copy at BBY and everything seems to play fine so I'm assuming a bad batch pressing since there were so many reports clustered together.
My advice is to check your discs immediately to make sure they load into the movie and exchange it first -- if you do a straight exchange then you shouldn't lose anything. Mine was done with a combination of RZ , CC, and Upgrade coupons so could have been a lot more complicated if I did a return and then rebought elsewhere.
I still would suggest opening the new copy and playing it in store. So far most of the issues have been all of none -- the disc loads and plays fine or it just won't do anything.

Hello again everyone!
I have received a final update from our business team as well as the vendor, and I wanted to make sure to pass this on to all of you.
After all of their research, they have been able to isolate this problem to a specific number of copies of this movie. Due to the number of affected discs, customers are being asked to contact Lionsgate directly with any issues. They can be reached at 1-877-230-2756 or by emailing lionsgateshop@orderassistance.com.
I appreciate everyone’s patience through all of this, and please let me know if you still have any questions.
Sincerely,
