I’ll be honest, I’m still digesting some of the great new releases from this week so it’s a bit difficult to look ahead to next week, but here are a couple that I am looking forward to…
Music
Atoms For Peace is an electronic supergroup made up of Thom Yorke from Radiohead, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead producer Nigel Goodrich, Joey Waronker who played drums on several Beck and R.E.M. albums, and Mauro Refosco. They have already spent quite a bit of time touring and have released their first single, “Default,” but Amok will be their first official album release. If you’re familiar with Thom Yorke’s solo work, you’ll probably enjoy this album based off of what I’ve heard so far. It certainly has Yorke’s unmistakable voice, and I’m looking forward to getting a chance to hear the whole album.
Shout Out Louds are a Swedish indie pop/rock band, and they will be releasing their fourth album, Optica. They’ve already released a couple singles from this album, “Blue Ice” and “Walking in Your Footsteps,” which have been a nice holdover while waiting for this new album which is their first in three years. You can check out their previous albums and hear some samples here.
Movies
The Master stars Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams. It follows the story of Freddie Quell (Phoenix) after he returns home from World War II. He has difficulties adjusting to life after the war, and stumbles upon a group that he believes can help him. I’ll watch anything with Philip Seymour Hoffman in it, so I’m looking forward to seeing this, especially after seeing the trailer. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD, and is rated R. You can view the trailer here.
What is everybody else looking forward to? Did anyone pick up any other great new releases recently?

Kind of a slow week for releases until Saturday when the new Twlight movie comes out. Only new title I picked up this week is an anime title called "Heaven's Lost Property: the Angeloid of Clockwork". Watched it last night and already posted a review as well. Also picked up Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (I know it's not new, but the 3D version was on sale for $20 again. Sadly, my Blu-ray player (Sony 480) is having a hard time recognizing the TV as being 3D (Panasonic VT50).
Won't pick up any new CDs until the next Stonesour album releases in March or April.
