Hey all since we're all in the holiday mood..What are some of your favorite carols or songs that you listen to during this hectic season? As for me..i'm a softie for the old carols and some of the new songs...One of my favorites is the song "Mary Did You Know.." the version I like best is by Donny Osmond (I know) off his christmas album....and of course "Grown Up Christmas List"...Also "A Christmas to Remember" by Amy Grant off of her third chrsitmas album and I think on her new christmas "greatest Hits" album..and of course.."Christmas Shoes" i'm not sure of he artist on this one.. but it requires a box of kleenex to make it thru this song....
Happy Listening and many wonderful days...

'Tis the season for great Holiday music. My favorite Christmas songs are perennials from my childhood. There aren't a lot of new compositions that strike me as timeless. If I hear a new classic, I'll let you know!
Last weekend I picked up Kristin Chenoweth's A Lovely Way To Spend Christmas. On it, she performs my new favorite version of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" which is one of my five most adored Christmas songs of all time. Josh Groban still does my favorite version of "O Holy Night" (although the song is so amazing that I'm never disappointed, no matter who sings it!) and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts nailed "Little Drummer Boy" like no other -- and that was in 1981. Rounding out my top five is "Christmas Wrapping" by the Waitresses (which makes me grin like a fool every time I hear it) and "I Saw Three Ships" by David Arkenstone.
I love song lists. My problem is that too often they turn into shopping lists.

I love the classic Christmas songs. For some unknown reason Burl Ives’ Have a Holiday Jolly Christmas always fills me with the holiday spirit. My other favorites are Sleigh Ride and I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas – not sure what I would do with one .

There is one by Mariah Carey that has the line "All I want for Christmas ... Is Youuuuu!"
The other one I like is Brenda Lee - Rocking Around The Christmas Tree
