Re: Favorite Animated Film?

I dont want to sound dirty or anything but Im surprised Disney chose the word "Tramp" for part of the name of its movie title. While the name in the films title does not suggest anything sexual, Tramp is usually an "Adult" term were as Disney is a "Family Friendly" Company

(We wont go there with Mystery Alaska, which was distributed by disney despite the adult content and the R rating)

Good point hockeycanuckjc that word is not a positive one to say th least.

This though all comes back to everyone being so concerned over being politically correct these days.

A prime example I think is the show "All in the Family", for those who don't know it is about a family the Bunkers, and the main charecter is Archie Bunker who is very bigoted, he lives with him "dingbat" but well meaning wife Edith, and their daughter Gloria and her very liberal husband Mike.

Basically Archie is more old school but he would say things regarding race, sexual orientation, and other things that would NEVER fly in todays tv shows, even with the rating systems we have in place, the show would have to be on HBO and not on CBS like it once was.

Today everyone is so worried about not upsetting anyone so they say nothing and we have pretty unfunny shows on tv now.

I just think the term tramp has evolved to what it is today and I am sure there are other examples of words that used to be used that are looked at differently now.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

I have to admit, Wall-e was freakin' sweet. Even though while being a grown man and watching a movie targeted towards kids, by myself at 2 a.m. i kinda felt like a pedophile. But there's just something about Wall-e that i really liked. I'm a big fan of dystopian sci-fi's anyway so maybe thats what it was that made it so good to me.

Re: Favorite Animated Film?

Animated movies rock.  I would have to second Elizabeth's choice: The Incredibles.  Isn't it every boy's dream to be a superhero?

A buddy and I even wrote an animated movie script that was about a young boy who used a bouncy ball as his weapon to fight off an evil giant robot from destroying a distant planet.  Pretty super-cool if you ask me.

Re: Favorite Animated Film?

I loved Monsters Inc., that was so cute and hilarious too.  Wall-e made me cry, love that movie.  Toy Story was amazing as well. Hmm, what else?  I actually liked the Tale of Despereaux.  Watched that with my nieces and it was such a sweet story.  Not my favorite ever but I liked it.  Shrek was beyond hysterical.  But I have to say I'm old school on this.  The animated films of today are marvels for the eye and they just seriously are increasingly better each year from the colors to the plots to the details.  However, I still have a soft spot for by hand animation of years past.  My favorites from the older school of animation are Lady and the Tramp and Sleeping Beauty.  Sleeping Beauty is my favorite animated movie of all time.  Well, that and Who Framed Roger Rabbit but that's not a full-fledged animated movie.  It's part live action.  Lol.  Realizing that I love so many of these I think I'm a huge dork. Lol. Oh well.

Re: Favorite Animated Film?

Wow, this is a tough question to answer!!!  So many wonderful animated movies out there.  I would say The Incredibles is my favorite.  A lot of fun to watch, and I never grow tired of it.  Another reason is because my mom's husband, Wayne (I called him dad), passed away last year and his nickname was Mr. Incredible; so whenever I watch that movie, it makes me think of him.

The Rescuers

Robin Hood (where the characters are played by animals)

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

I liked the Incredibles and Shrek (1&2 havent seen 3) but I really dont consider them true "cartoons". Computer animation instead.

You know, the only thing that I remember from that version of Robin Hood is the tune that gets played/whistled by every major character like 20 times during the movie.
