Yeah but the point isnt why I dont get the promotion I want on the movie I want.  The question is what r they thinking?  They knew Avengers did huge numbers in the US...Hunger Games did as well.  What wouldnt they want to offer their customers the best packaging on the most popular movies.  They r happy offering Ghost Rider Steelbooks.

Actually something is happening on Aug 28 so I guess they figure out how badly they dropped the ball.  If it turns out to be the Viva case, they did good.  If its a cheap thing with stickers then Ill continue spending my money at places that r creative in their promotions and concerned about what the customers want.  ie not BB

If you understand than why are you still confused? I'm sure the only thing they are thinking is that their version is attactive enough for people to shop at Best Buy than any other store. They really don't get too much of a choice in that department. They can add some input and try to work with them, but in the end it's up to the studios. Only company that really does seem to have a constant steelbook for Best Buy is Disney. Since Avengers is technically a Disney movie, who knows? Those steelbooks don't usually come till the same month as the movie is released so if they are, it won't be announced till later.

Also steelbook being the "best" is questionable. For me as long as the movie has a slipcover, it's the best packaging. I usually give away my steelbooks to friends. And if you want steelbook so bad, import them. Steelbook collectors know that if you want theses, you better live over seas cause it's not a popular item to be included for US movies.

I understand frustration as Futureshop is basically same company and sometimes we get the same steelbooks (snow white and huntsman) but majority of time the "really good" steelbooks like hunger games BB is passed over . I am hoping we get good news for Avengers Smiley Happy

Oh I know Canada gets more than US, but still nothing compared to France and stuff. Even though Futureshop is the same, I hear they operate  nothing a like and pretty much two different companies. And I believe it's more on the side of the studios since some movies have different studios for distribution between US and Canada. Sometimes the same studios just work differently between sides. That's why some movies have different covers and what not even though it's the same movie.

I agree...Best Buy knows nothing about steelbooks and the people that work there, most are just not in the know about steelbooks or what they are or anything about them. My Best Buy where I live gets nothing new and sometimes not even half of the new releases that are in the paper. It would seem to me if there are 12 steelbooks on sale in the paper that they would at least get a shipment of them but they don't...They NEVER do...Good thing we have a Target store close by to get all sorts of steelbooks that come out each week...Best Buy is definitely missing the boat..........If you say anything different then you are either paid by Best Buy to reply to this stuff or you aren't really looking to collect steelbooks...For those of us that are, we really hope someday they get better at finding places to put them and also at packaging them better when you order from the website!

The Warners steelbooks were nice but way too late.  Not everyone wants to double dip just to get the case.  The time to offer steelbooks is on the original release.  Even the DKR movie cash didnt tempt me to buy BDs I already own.
