Best Buy and the loss of physical media

Today marks the end of an era for me personally. I strolled into Best Buy hoping to get my hands on some DVDs to add to my small collection and to my utter dismay, I couldn’t find the DVD section. It was like a punch in the gut, and when I finally did stumble upon them, I found it reduced to half an aisle. Not even an entire aisle, half. I know this isn’t a new topic here as I’ve heard whispers of BB downsizing else where but man am I disappointed. Curious to hear others experiences and alternatives to Best Buy (I have a Costco near me but they no longer have ANY DVDs! Seems like the beginning of the end unfortunately)

While DVD disks are not obsolete just yet, many new titles now are in combo packs, a standard now. This is how I think Redbox rents out their movies as they split them up. You can always buy a Best Buy gift card in the store and shop at Best Buys website to shop for the DVD titles you want. FYI It's hard to find DVD players now too but they are still standard in many homes.

The store beginning with the W even has downsized their offerings as well but still has bargain bins of older movies.
