Panasonic's hold on Avatar 3D is to be up 2012 and then it will be available to everyone. Does anyone know when the release date will be?

Haven't heard anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if they renew their hold on it and keep it off store shelves for a while longer.  Great movie in 3D, but a tad expensive to get your hands on.

I got a copy of it when I bought my Panasonic 3D tv a couple of years ago.

It's made of awesome!

I don't understand why this is not available to everyone. That is such a shame.

PS...it will play on a ps3.

I have seen this movie and enjoyed its animtion; great work done by its producers James Cameron and Jon Landau!

Holiday shopping season is the likely time it will be released to promote sales of 3D TVs as Cameron has literally just announced that it will be available to everyone very soon.

Here is the release date info looks like October 16th is the date.
