I preordered KH3 back before Christmas and the delivery date says 1/29. As we all know, and probably have been counting down to, is the release day of the game. I'm just curious as to how accurate of a delivery day that is. Also, if it is very accurate, how can companies like Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart and others ship out a product the day it is released? Do they get shipments a few days before the initial release and send it out to guarantee that the customers receive their pre-ordered games the day they are released? Or do they send it out the day it is supposed to be released and the customer gets it a couple of days later?
This is the first time I have pre-ordered a game in general and I'm just quite curious.

Welcome to the forums!
I appreciate you reaching out and choosing us for your Kingdom Hearts III purchase! Pre-ordering is a great way to ensure that you get a copy of a game you’re super excited about playing. I am happy to look into this for you.
While pre-ordering does not necessarily guarantee that you will receive an item on the day of release, we do our best to fulfill pre-orders as inventory becomes available prior to making the same item available to walk-in customers.
Our pre-orders are not a guarantee of release day availability. It simply holds you a spot to be fulfilled as soon as we receive product from the manufacturer. In some instances, situations outside of our control can impact availability on release day, in which case, we will fulfill your order as soon as possible. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have pre-ordered a lot of games from Best Buy over the last x number of years.
Only one time have I not gotten my game on release day and that was my fault for pre-ordering the Saturday before a Tuesday release.
The game will not ship from your store. I will ship from a processing facility.
I believe they get the games at the distribution center almost a week before release. They ship store pick ups to the stores.
You will get charged up to a week before release. So make sure you have funds available on the card you used.
Typically for a Tuesday release they will ship on Saturday. The system is a little quirky so come Monday afternoon it may still say processing when it is actually in transit.
If it is important to have the game on release day I strongly suggest opting for in store pick up.
