Why is the Collectors edition of God of War only available at specifc stores? It says that the nearest BB that will have it is 67 miles away.

Welcome to the forums and thanks for sharing your interest in pre-ordering God of War from us. You ask an excellent question, which I’ll be happy to answer and clarify for you.

Our stores receive a set inventory allocation of collector’s or limited edition games when pre-orders open up. Once a store’s allocation has fully been claimed that stores status as being an available store-pickup location for pre-orders is shut off. This is why you’re seeing that some stores in your area have this version available, while others do not. As an extension of this question, I have one preordered but it was before the digital preorder add on was available.  So if you put the game in the cart now it will have a seperate line for the digital freebie.  Will that be getting added on to previous preorders as well?  I would not want to cancel my current preorder and reorder it as it says that they are no longer available to ship to my zip code when I try to checkout with a new order.  I can provide an order number if needed.  Thanks.

Yes, you should see the digital POB added to your order by the system prior to release. As detailed in our Entertainment Pre-Order FAQ; “All pre-ordered items will receive any offer enhancements that become available (e.g., if a free game disc is added to the offer, you will receive it even if it was not available at the time you placed your pre-order).” If for some reason the bonus is not added to your order, please see our Game Codes Thread for specific contact instructions so we may be of assistance, post-release.

The reason for the delay on listing pre-orders for God of War Collector's and Limited Editions, Gadgets 360 has learned, has to do with Sony India being unclear of the exact quantity it plans to bring in to the country. Even now, most retailers don't have a confirmation on the quantities they're getting of the game.

Usually in the pre-order phase you can get a small discount or additional content that won’t be available upon launch. However, the retail price won’t increase when it’s launched.
