Raise your hand if you’re not a fan of breakfast foods.

*looks around nervously, lowers hand*

Okay, so maybe that’s not very common, but it’s true—for me, at least. I don’t remember the last time I woke up in the morning and thought, I’d like to eat an egg white omelet. Instead, I usually opt for a big cup of iced coffee and just power through until lunchtime. After all, doesn’t pizza sound far better than a salted egg?

breakfast-sandwich-machineThat’s what I thought for a very long time until I started experimenting with breakfast foods a few weeks ago. I recently discovered a trick where, instead of taking the time to melt butter and cook eggs on the stove, you can just mix an egg or two together in a coffee mug and zap it in the microwave for 60-90 seconds. Ouila! There you have it: the easiest batch of scrambled eggs ever. If you want a little something extra in your morning grub, you can add in some shredded cheese, pieces of ham, or cooked bacon about halfway through the cooking process.

If you’re not a fan of scrambled eggs and prefer them hard-boiled (or even soft-boiled), the Chefman Electric Egg Cooker makes life even easier for you. Just load up the machine with water, insert up to six eggs, and watch the magic unfold right before your eyes. My fellow kitchen connoisseurs might opt for a step up from just plain eggs, though, and that’s where another fancy tool comes into play. Hamilton Beach, known for their one-of-a-kind kitchen tools and utensils, carries a breakfast sandwich maker that lets you crank out breakfast masterpieces in record time. Throw in some eggs, meats, and bread, and let the machine do the rest.

For those who aren’t into the egg scene whatsoever, rest assured that hope isn’t lost!

espresso-machineNothing can really beat the taste of a fresh, crisp apple on an early morning paired with a cup of coffee, but sometimes it’s fun to change things up a bit. Next time you have a free moment, consider chopping up some fruit into thin slices and popping it into the oven for 3-5 hours around 150-200ºF to dry out any moisture, giving you your own delicious fruit chips. If you don’t want to leave your oven on for an extended period of time, a perfect alternative is using a food dehydrator, which makes cooking and cleaning a breeze.

Finally, if you need a little extra kick while you’re getting ready for the day, why not brew your own espresso? It’s not nearly as difficult as it may sound, and these small drinks can pack a major punch of caffeine. Whether you like it with frothed milk, hot water, or by itself, espresso is a low-fat, low-calorie, and low-carb boost of energy that can make a huge difference in your mornings.

How do you get ready to conquer the day? Do you have any favorite breakfast meals or food hacks? Like I said, I’m not a huge breakfast fan to begin with, but you can always try to convince me to try new things!
