Festival Technology!

When I’m not spending my time in the office, I like to go to concerts. When it’s time to really go crazy, I’m a huge fan of going to music festivals. I’ve gotten quite a lot better at packing for them over the years. Gone are the days of simply buying some food and ice at a gas station with the plan of buying whatever I need inside of the festival. Thankfully with the help of Best Buy, you too can hit up a festival in style.

No one wants to be in the sun all day only to get back to their campsite and have a boiling drink. OtterBox makes a fantastic cooler that can hold up to 29 pounds of ice.  Obviously you can’t always take that with you so it’s nice to have a smaller cooler to carry around the campground. OtterBox also makes a smaller cooler that can keep ice cold for up to 3 days so you can keep drinks cold all weekend.

Once you head out of the campground, you’re probably going to want to take pictures and videos of all the bands you see. There’s not much worse than a dead battery in the middle of you most anticipated set. Luckily, we have plenty of options available to

stay charged up all day. I’ve been using this myCharge portable charger for the last few years and it’s great. It’s small, has a couple charging cables built in and can charge using a wall outlet so you don’t have to keep track of an extra cable. You don’t want to use a battery before you need to so a car charger for the drive never hurts.

After a long day of standing in the sun and listening to music, you need to get ready for the next day. Once you have your schedule for the next day planned, the recovery process starts! The hot sun will take a lot energy out of you and you want to make sure you don’t end up in the medical tent (trust me). Having a trusty water bottle is one of the most important tools to having a good time and making sure you can go the distance. You’ll also want to make some good food so you have energy for the next day without paying festival prices.

As the sun starts to set you’ll probably want to check out the late night festivities. I'm a sucker for a silent disco. Your campground might not look too familiar in a different light and wandering around all night is never a good time.. A good headlamp will help make sure you’re headed to the right place and don’t step on someone who decided the grass was good place to go to bed.

Preparation for a festival is the most important step to make sure you have a good time. If you have any tips or a favorite festival memory let us know in the comments below!
