iOS App will not save recently added devices

I've tried over and over to add my new freezer using the iOS app (on two sepate devices - iPhone, iPad).

I go through all of the steps, it says it is succesful, I press continue...  and the device I just added disappears off the list a half second later, never to return again.

 

Logged-in with my account in latest version of connect app from app store.

Wifi router, non-encrypted 2.4GHz SSID.

Have removed and re-installed the app several times.

 

iPhone is running the IOS released the week of Oct 15;  iPad has not yet been updated.

 

What's the deal?
