Welcome to Best Buy’s online community. I recently left my gas oven on as I was leaving my home for work, and I didn’t realize it until it was too late to turn back. Luckily, my husband was in the area and could stop by and turn it off. During the whole time, I keep thinking to myself, if I had an application to turn it off this situation could be less stressful. While I glad that you have an freezer that can help you switch between different modes, I am sorry to learn you recently experience some issues with it.
I'd suggest having him factory reset the freezer by pressing and holding the LOCK button for 3 seconds to unlock the control panel, then press LOCK and "+" simultaneously for 3 seconds to reset the freezer. he should also remove the device from his device list, and then delete and re-install the Insignia CONNECT app on his phone to re-pair the device.
