Piece of junk

Hello

I purchased the Insignia smart plug a couple days ago and what a rip off!

 

This piece of junk is totally unable to be added to the buggy iOS app. Everytime i go through the proccess, it connects to my network (i see it under my dhcp devices) but i cant see on the app, therefore cant control it.

 

I have tried at least 10 times to to the regustration process again with no luck. I have signed out, uninstalled, reinstalled the app, resetted that thing to factory defaults and nothing.

 

This piece of plastic is definitely going to my garbage can and i will make sure i will never buy this weird brand. what is cheap, never works!

Hello, andresmorago, and welcome to our community.

 

I use my Insignia™ Wi-Fi Smart Plugs almost every day to control the lights in my room, and I would love to help you be able to do the same with your new purchase. Is your phone connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your plug? From what I understand, these switches can operate on the 2.4GHz band of your network but may not function properly on the 5GHz band.

 

If you've verified your plug is connected to the same network as your phone, we can try resetting the switch to its factory settings. You can do this by pressing and holding the main button on the front of the switch for 10 seconds (the LED will flash green and the Smart Plug will reset upon release).

 

Let me know if this fixes the problem or if you have any other questions.

Please read again my initial post regarding the corrective actions I’ve taken. None of them have worked so far.

yes, my iPhone is on the same 2.4 network
