Hey Benny832,
Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forum. I'd recommend first removing the product from your device list within the Insignia Connect app, and then deleting the app from your device. Then, try to re-download the app from the App Store, and log in as usual before re-adding the fridge to your device list again. You may also want to try restarting your phone to see if that helps.
If none of these steps seem to do the trick, I'd recommend contacting Insignia Support at (877) 467-4289 to help troubleshoot these issues in real-time.
Best wishes,

I have tried 2 different freezers (first one returned for a different reason), and have reinstalled the app, and deleted and connected the current freezer to the app multiple times (even resetting the wifi on the freezer itself) ... and yet every time I set it up, it shows up underneath "Switches & Plugs" on the Insignia Connect app.
Now, this could be merely cosmetic, and wouldn't matter so much ... however, when I click on the device, although it seems to display the accurate temperature, it always says it's in "Fridge" mode, says the temperature is "Rising to 35", and the temperature scale shows from 35 to 46 Farenheit. Luckily, this seems to be inaccurate information, because on the freezer panel itself, it shows it is in Freezer mode, and the temperature remains set at 0 deg.
So, how do I get the Connect app to recognize my device as a freezer ... and why is some of this information incorrect? Or is this just a bug with the app itself?
This is Connect app ver 3.14.0 on iOS 12.1

I have exactly the same issue with the Insignia Connect App (v3.14.0) on my iphone 8plus on iOS 12.1.
Did you get any luck so far?

Hi,
I have exactly the same issue with the Insignia Connect App (v3.14.0) on my iphone 8plus on iOS 12.1.
Tried your suggestion to removing product, re-installing app, etc...without success.
When looking in the phone diagnostic seems to be an application crash happening when i select my Freezer device in the app (I copy/paste start of the stack file here, i have complete file if needed):

Hey, I had a similar experience with the app crashing when trying to bring up details for my freezer ... on 2 different phones. I can say, that after about 4 or 5 tries ... my Insignia Connect app finally was able to display the freezer details without crashing. However, as I mentioned in my other thread ... the "mode" says "fridge" even though the freezer is in freezer mode, and the temperature adjustment scale is wrong. If you are able to just try accessing the freezer details a bunch of times, it might stop crashing for you too. I didn't really do anything other than keep relaunching the app (no phone restarts or anything). However, if you do get it to stop crashing, I'll be curious if the details are partially incorrect like mine. Does your also show under the category for Switches & Plugs?

Hi Jeff,
I followed your advice and after 10 times it then started to work! Now it simply never crashes again.
Then i have the same issues as you now: The freezer shows in the Switches and Plugs, the mode says Fridge and the temperature range says "Rising to 5" with a range of 2-8 even though my current temp shows -18 celcius (in canada, this is 0 F)...
Not much use for this app then...appart than knowing current temp and whether the door is open or not...

Apparently these topics got merged. @Benny832, I'm sorry if you are still having trouble with the app crashing. I don't have much more advice for that, other than it did eventually stop crashing for me, and apparently JoeFromCanada as well. Note that it does take several retries before the app seems to "stabilize". Since mine's not crashing anymore, I'm not sure I can be of any more help there.
@JoeFromCanada, I'm currently talking with Insignia support regarding the incorrect information displaying in the app. So far, they are still gathering information from me ... but I'm hopeful that they will be able to figure out the problem. I have my suspicion that it will require a tweak to the Freezer firmware or app (or both) in order to fix this. I can post their resolution ... if they come up with something.
