Insigina support says I should wait a week and call back or return the product to the store.  Is this considered good tech support?

That is what they told me to. They said the engineers are aware and are working on it now

I received this follow-up from Insignia today:

“Thank you for getting back to me and for the information provided.

As I mentioned on the previous e-mail, this is an ongoing situation with Google Assistant Speakers. We have received information that a new update is being configured and it will take care of such glitches. It will be launched within the next 48 hours and installed automatically by your speaker.”

I think the firmware update was applied! My Insignia speaker now works, I just set the alarm!!

 

I will continue to monitor it and update this forum.
