I had set up Insignia Fridge/Freezer to my router but the signal was low (firewall between house and garage) so I installed an access point in the garage near it and went through the song and dance of removing the fridge from the app, factory reset (Lock +), and activate wifi/add to app (Lock -, + sign to AP)
It goes through the motions, connects to the fridge then switches back to my home wifi. The app will spin it gears and eventually fail to connect with the message to double check my password, make sure its a 2.4GHz network, etc.
Here's the thing, I know its hostname and IP. My router shows it under connected devices, my Access Point shows it under connected devices and I can even access the Web GUI that allows me to connect to a different wireless network which clearly shows it is connected to the wifi.
I have tried going through the motions about 15 times now:
-Factory reset
-Set to AP mode
-Add in the app
-I can see it on the network (can ping it, shows up on my routers connected devices, access its web gui)
-App fails to install.
It is connecting to the 2.4GHz network, the password is correct. Why isn't there an option to just point the app to the device? I know the IP address. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, forgetting/re connecting to my 2.4GHz home network. The current connection method is horribly unreliable.
Please advise.
