Any update on a fix for this? As a recap, the issues are:
1. Player no longer recognizes avis, mpgs, mp4s, m2ts, etc as valid formats.
2. Can't search or fast forward more than 2x in media files larger than ~1.5 gigs
3. Any others?
Thanks,
Adam

I'm in the same boat. Would appreciate a PM as well.
I have been reading this thread for the past week. Have been afraid to hook up the Netflix as it seems you have no choice which firmware to choose from, and I sure don't want to lose, avi, mkv, etc codec playability.
But I found that this machine won't even recognize and give me a menu choice for any of my USB thumb drives or
my Western Digital Passport. It won't recognize the WD, and it will show that a thumb drive is attached, but I can't get any menu to view the video files. It is in FAT 32, and all the thumb drives work. Really unhappy with the slow response from Insignia tech help on these pages so far.
If anybody has the working firmware that will help me please PM me a link.
Thanks again
Lyndon

When I plugged in a USB flash drive with only .avi files, the player recognized the drive, but the files did not appear. When I changed the files to .wmv, they appeared and were playable.
My point is that you don't have to worry about updating or reinstalling the old firmware as long as you are able to change the extensions on your files.
