Re: Remote Control Codes for Home Audio

Hello rdevine_az,

Unfortunately, not every universal remote will control every device.  If you're unable to find a working code via the search feature, a higher-end universal remote control will likely be required to control all of your home theater components.

Re: Remote Control Codes for Home Audio

Hello Aodi,

You should be able to use any new universal remote with the NS-R5101HD. Universal remotes typically have a code search feature that you can use that will scan all the available codes and test them against the receiver. You could even order the original remote for the receiver, here is a link to the page where you can order the remote, unfortunately it is on back order at the currently time. If you do purchase a universal remote and you require assistance programming it, please let me know.

Re: Remote Control Codes for Home Audio

Hello Tristantwister,

I would suggest using the code 1077, if that does not work follow these steps to use the code search feature:

  1. Turn on the NS-SBAR.
  2. Press the "Aux" button, then press and hold "Setup". The "Aux" button will blink twice.
  3. Press 9 9 1 and the "Aux" button will blink twice.
  4. Aim the remote at the NS-SBAR and press the "Power" button on the remote.
  5. Press the "CH+" button until the NS-SBAR powers off.
  6. Press "Setup" to lock the code.

Re: Remote Control Codes for Home Audio

Hi,

I have one LG 32LC7D remote control. It has audio remote code for some brand but not Ingignia. Do you know which one is good remote code for NS-R5101HD?

And if I buy Logitch Harmony Universal Remote Control (300i), will this universal remote control work well with NS-R5101HD? Will it have full function whih include setup function as original one?

   Thanks.

Re: Remote Control Codes for Home Audio

Hello,

I have a display model of the Insignia NS-R2001 which did not come with a remote.  I need to program my Xfinity Comcast 3 in 1 remote to control the audio receiver with the red ok/select button.  Please provide me with a code I can use... I have tried a number I have already seen on this site and they are not working.  Thank you!

Re: Remote Control Codes for Home Audio

Hello Tristanflynn,

I would suggest using the code search feature of the remote to automatically find the proper code for your receiver. You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Turn on your receiver.
  2. Press the "Aux" button on the remote. Then press and hold the "Setup" button until the Aux button blinks twice, then release setup.
  3. Pres 9 9 1 3. The "Aux" button will blink twice.
  4. Aim the remote at the receiver, press and release "Power", then repeatedly press "CH+"  until the receiver turns off.
  5. Press "Setup" to lock the code.

Re: Remote Control Codes for Home Audio

Zac-INSG,
Thank you for your reply. However, your directions don't seem to work at all. It almost looks as though you have merged some tv and aux programming directions. Do you have any other directions that I can try? I tried the scan commands for aux, using 9-1-1 code and then alternating between power and aux but this didn't work. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

Re: Remote Control Codes for Home Audio

Hello Tristanflynn,

I apologize for that, in my haste I put together a pretty poorly worded post. I have edited the previous post to reflect what information I was trying to get across.

If you follow those steps and you are unable to get the remote to control the receiver, it means that there is not a code in the remote that will work with the receiver. The code search feature uses every code in the remote's database against the receiver to look for a compatible code. Every time you press the "CH+" button it is trying a different code from that database. I apologize for any inconvenience that my previous post might have caused.
