We're very interested in making sure that you get the most out of your Insignia™ products, and that includes using your universal remote controls. Your universal remote manual should provide codes, but if one is not available, you have the functionality of using the scan or learning feature of the universal remote to find one.  

If you're still having trouble finding a code, we want to help.  Here's what we need you to provide so that we can get you what you need:

• The remote control manufacturer and model number.
• The model number of the home audio component you want to control. 
• Any additional details about your home theater system that might help us help you.

If you reply to this message with the your information, we'll start working to get you an answer.

We also ask that you remember that most universal remote controls don't offer all of the functionality of your original Insignia™ controller, but we'll do our best to make sure that you get the most out of your universal remote!

I need codes for Time Warner Cable Atlas OCAP 5-Device Remote Control by Universal Electronics for Insignia NS-R5101AHD-A.

I have performed auto search using both the Direct TV remote URC2990BG0-0-R and a URC-A6 (insignia code = 589) universal remote.  Neither remote will control the NS-R5101HD reciever.  I contacted Direct TV technical support and they were unable to help me using the codes they supplied.  I even tried the Direct TV manual search without any luck.  The reciever was purchased from BestBuy as a out of the box item.  As a result I did not receive the correct remote with the unit.  The power and volume both work using the Insignia remote but none of the other functions appear to be working.  I made sure the IR sensor was clear of obstruction as well.  Any help will be appreciated, Thanks.

Does anyone know the code, or if the satellite remote is even capable of controlling the NS-H4005 home theatre system?  I realize they are older components, but thought it might be worth a shot.  My father is not very tech savy, and he frequently has issues with multiple remotes.......    Thanks for the help!

In regards to your request, I have been researching about this, and that the codes I have found to program your Atlas OCAP 5 remote to control the Insignia NS-R5101AHD-A are the: 1077, 1293 and 0321. Please, take into account that if any of this codes work, your remote control also offers you the option to use the "Learning mode" to look for the frequency the unit works and control it. I really hope this helps!

In regards to your concern, I have been doing some research and found some codes for your URC-A6 remote: 024, 040, 048, 063, 065, 102, 106, 110, 143, 210,  228, 447 and 589. Please, bear in mind that your remote control also provides the "Couch Mode" that will allow you to control the receiver with no need to enter a particular code.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find the URC2990BG0-0-R as a valid model number. So, if you have any other concern, please, double check this model number and let me know!

I have been checking about the capability of programming your remote control with this Home Theater, and there are, unfortunately, no codes for Home Theaters (any brand). In this case, I suggest you to check with Sony to verify this information, or if your remote has a "Learning" or "Searching" mode.

I am sorry I cannot give you the answer you were looking for, but I really hope you can get it to control the unit to make it easier for your father...

Thanks for the help but unfortunately the codes:  024, 040, 048, 063, 065, 102, 106, 110, 143, 210, 228, 447, and 589 all failed to work.  The URC-A6 has another feature to search the component  and find the component's set-up code number.  When this was performed the code number it identified was 083.  However this code also failed.  The couch mode is not a way to control the URC-A6, instead it is an auto shutoff if a button on the remote is pressed continuously for more than 30 seconds.  I took another closer look at my Direct TV remote and found one other number that may be of some help.  It is an FCC ID # MG32481.  I hope this helps,  Thanks,
