Even having Portuguese between the choices of autorun languages of subtitle in the languagues menu, the NS-WBRDVD doesn't interprets the diacritics of the words ("á", "ã", "é")
I wanna know if there is any estimate when will be available an update to support properly the Portuguese subtitle.

The source was a srt file selected when playing an mkv movie.
I selected the subtitle trough the remote control.
I had and tried english and portuguese subtitles, both loaded ok but in the portuguese the letter with accents came as a square symbol like this "□".

Rccrj Hello, Would you please comment on how it is that the video did it catch you subtitles. And tried to add in the same folder as the video the subtitle with the same name (different extension) and add the mkv file and I do not let them choose in any way.

I know this is an old thread, maybe someone can help. How do you get the srt files to load? was it off a thumb drive, burned to dvd...I just can't get it to work in any way.

I just place the two files with the same beging of the file name and choose by the subtitle button.
I already did it with two subs with diferent end names (one eng other pt-br) and it worked ok.
If you wanna send me the links of those files that do not load, i can try here.

Hi Rafael, thank you for that fast reply!
Unfortunately I don't have any links to the files I'm using. I'm using Mp4 files with the srt, both have identical names, off of an 8gb flash drive, and when I hit the subtitle button on the remote after I start the movie, the srt does not show up to turn it on. I actually can't even see the srt file when I browse the folder on the flash drive where the Mp4 is...it's very strange, and completely frustrating. I can't understand why it would work for one machine and not another. What firmware are you running on your insignia? Thank you again for your help.
