This has been a ongoing problem with Insignia as well as a bunch of other bluray player makers. Why do we pay this money and have these players not work a year later?
I bought this player a little over a year ago and wish I would have waited awile longer.
Anyone got a list of the confirmed disc that have issues?
we should creat a thread and update it with disc that have issues...........

check this out everyone...............................
Hey guys........i have a update. These blu-ray players were made by another company called Funai. There apears to be several models available and they are updating the models. They just realesed one on march 1st. Insignia can update these players as Funai does. Here is a link to news and updates about this little player.........
Sorry to any admin if I am not allowed to post links but these is handy for us people that have this player and want to keep up with updates and such.

It was a great little player until it would not play inglorias bastards. man, wish someone told me before I bought the BR disk.
If I buy a electronic device I expect it to work at least three years. I have had this a little over year so I am out $165.
If Funai is still releasing the firmware updates for the sister models why are you not updating ours insignia? I gave you another chance after I bought a LCD tv from you and had two die in 7 months before I bought a Samsung.
anyone know of any list being compiled that tells up what BR disk have issues with thios player or other players?

I just bought Alvin and the Chipmonks 2 It will not play on my NS-BRDVD. I do not want to buy a new player just to play a movie. I was wondering when you will have a new firmware update? Funai has updates for similiar models on March 1st, 2010. Help please!

This problem will only get worse, almost every new blu-ray movie coming out will no longer work with NS-BRDVD. The reason why NS-BRDVD can't play newer blu-ray discs is because of the movie industry changing copyprotection. It's unfortunate that DRM keeps on changing to try and stop a few more people from copying blu-ray movies when it hurts so many people. Most people do not even know what the word firmware means and I'm seeing cards coming with blu-ray movies telling consumers to update their blu-ray firmware. Everytime blu-ray DRM is updated, it gets cracked within days.

This is player is near worthless now. I wont buy another player just to play newer blurays. It would be nice if Insignia would say anyhting or admit to the problems.
Well, at least I can stream movies on xbox and I still buy movie on DVD all the time.

I refuse to buy another player as I have had mine around a year. It can't be hard for insignia to update it as Funai has already came up with one. It would be minimal work for them.
Man, Insignia is has failed with every product I have picked up from them. First TV died in 14 months when it was out of warranty. Second was a LCD and I had to switch it out after 5 days because the power suppley died. Still have the replacment and it seems to be fine for almost 2 years now. The I got this player and it looks to be another dud.
Lets just keep up the post, emails and calls until we get some answers.............................

agreed. I have one other bluray player but I need one for both rooms so I can watch anything I buy in both rooms. Man, any other companies being this bad with customer service when it comes to updating players?? my other players is a Sony s350....works like no other. I also had a Samsung 1400X. Samsung took awile to get the firmware out but they still release them. They just posted a new one the other day and that player is much older than this one...........maybe I should have kept it!
