I don't know if they will let you, but I highly recommend buying the Black Tie replacement plan. For my NS-BRDVD it cost $30, and it is a 4 year replacement warranty. If the item is discontinued and stops working, it will be replaced with the unit that replaces that model (if it can't be repaired).
I usually don't like to fall for the "special warranty" scheme, but with how unreliable the whole bluray format has been, I went for it. Surely this model will be discontinued and left without future firmware updates within a year.

Hello kaolani,
Welcome to Community@Inisgnia™!
In this case, this player is the first model we launched. Although the Blu-ray Disc specification has been finalized, engineers continue to work on advancing the technology, and we launch update periodically to keep updated. My advise will be to keep posted, and check our website www.insigniaproducts.com for updates on the firmware.
Thank you,
Gonza

Hello mmysam,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
I would recommend that you try the following: reset the player to factory default settings, then power-cycle the unit (turn it off, then unplug it for several minutes). After this step, reinstall the latest firmware update. If your player still will not play Blu-ray disks, I would suggest returning with it to the place of purchase to pursue service options.

John

Hi John
No luck, so this means my player is dead. Right? My bad luck I didn't keep the invoice. Anything else that I can do ? Do you think I should clean the lens?
Thank you for your fast respond.

Hello mmysam,
You may certainly try cleaning the lens as it will solve some disk playback issues.
As the product has a one year factory warranty and a receipt is required for warranty service, I would recommend contacting the retailer where you made the purchase to obtain a copy of your receipt. After you have the receipt, visit the retailer with your player to pursue service options.
Regards,
John
