Hi jakecentric,
Welcome back to the forum. I listen to music on my Google Home Mini almost every day, and I like to keep it quiet just like you so I don't get distracted while I work. After doing a bit of digging on Google's support forums, I've found that this issue seems to be quite common with various Google Home devices when your mobile phone is connected via Bluetooth.
Some users have found that unplugging the power cord from the bottom/back of the unit, waiting a minute or two, and then re-connecting the device has worked for them. Can you give this a try and see if it works for you?

Well, this happens whether my phone is connected or not and I have tried the unplugging and have even tried different devices...it seems completely related to low volume in combination with music that has moments of silence. I will try again tonight when I get home, but I have my doubts that it will work. The only solution seems to be turning it up to around 10 or louder and then it never cuts out...unfortunately, that volume is too loud to go to sleep to.

Hello jakecentric,
I'm hopeful that a forced reboot will do the trick here. If not, I'd recommend following the steps outlined in Google's support post here to submit a diagnostics report to their teams for further review.
Best wishes,

Google's support post link is for Bluetooth related issues and is more than 1 year old. I think - as jakecentric pointed out - this is a problem with your product, not Google Home. I have tried all the reset/reboot processes and the problem remains. Again, NOT a bluetooth problem, simply trying to stream music (Pandora or Google Play) via your device. I have 5 other Google home products installed and none have this issue, except for the Insignia. Your product is awesome, but this is a fatal flaw. Any other suggestions before I return it?

Hello jakecentric,
At this point I'd recommend calling Insignia Support at (877) 467-4289 for assistance with troubleshooting in real time.
