Insigna Fire TV help!

I have had issues with Insigna Fire TV, this is my second one TV in 2 years and this one is 3 months old. It is doing everything that is listed on these forums at various times and every remedy given I have tried many times and it makes no difference. The most recent issue is it says I have no internal space for apps although the only apps I added were Hulu and HBO Max, everything else came with the TV and I cannot delete them. Emptying cache and data do not work, as soon as I exit the app that handles that action, the cache and data come back. The TV says my storage is 4g - can that be right? Only 4 g??

Anyway, what I tried is changing inputs and taking a firestick from another TV and plugged it in. This works fantastic although the TV wants to revert back to the fire TV and not stay on the input for the stick. This now requires 2 remotes that look almost identical and my wife is having none of it.

So, is there a way to make the default power on mode to go directly to input 1 instead of going into the Fire TV first?

Oh also if any advice on the actual TV not behaving would be appreciated too. I say again though, factory reset, restarts, unplug/plug back in, clearing cache and data, deleting the only 2 apps I have - none of it works. I have another Fire TV in another room that ocassionally will change display settings on its own but none of the issues like the other one.

Thank You

Re: Insigna Fire TV help!

Hello, Glkris,

Thank you for visiting our online community. I watch more TV than I care to admit, and I tend to stream most of the content. Insignia Fire TVs are typically great for this purpose, although I understand you have run into some roadblocks.

If you are out of space on your TV, adding an external streaming device would be a solution. You should be able to designate which input you’d like the TV to default to. This would be done through the Settings menu. You should see an option for “system” or “display & sound,” then “power on.” From there, you should be able to choose which input you’d want to have the device power to.

It sounds like you’ve gone through the basic troubleshooting steps for the other concerns you brought up. For further support with your Insignia Fire TV, I’d recommend checking out the Support & Service page. You are also welcomed to send our team a Private Message.
