I have a new smart LG TV (purchased at Best Buy) and new Insignia speakers (purchased at Best Buy). The speakers will connect via Bluetooth, but once I turn off the TV (leaving the speakers powered on and Bluetooth ready), the TV will not connect automatically to the speakers but returns to the default internal speakers. My Bluetooth headphones connect automatically after turning on the TV, but not these speakers (NS-HBTSS116).
LG support says "If the bookshelf speakers are visible to the TV but the TV never connects automatically, there is something within the speaker's settings preventing the TV from connecting and it defaults back to the internal TV speakers.
There wouldn't be a problem with the Bluetooth on the TV since it connects automatically to another Bluetooth device automatically and it connects to the bookshelf speakers when performed manually. "
I need the speakers to connect without my involvement or the speakers will need to be returned.
Any help?

Greetings, johnac,
Welcome to our community and thank you for choosing Best Buy for your purchases! I understand having to pair your speakers each time would be a pain. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to reach out to us for advice.
Upon reviewing the manual available for the Insignia – Powered Bookshelf Speakers, it appears the Bluetooth option was created with the intention of being used with a MP3 Player or smartphone. This doesn’t mean they can’t be used with your television, but it may provide some more insight into the why don’t pair immediately back to your TV. Can you please confirm if the LED light on the speaker is a certain color and/or does it blink? This may point to the root cause speaker could be communicating to us to troubleshoot. Also, the manual does call out the following:
After switching to Bluetooth mode, the speakers automatically search for a previously connected Bluetooth device and connect with it. If the speakers can’t find a previously paired device, they enter pairing mode automatically and the blue LED will flash quickly.
I look forward to your reply to learn what your speakers are doing to see what further advice I may be able to share with you!

Hi Mariah - After I turn off the TV, the speaker displays the flashing blue light.

Hi,
Is the blue light blinking fast or slow? If it’s slow then it means “Bluetooth Connectable” and fast indicates “Bluetooth pairing mode”.
Can you please try to turn off the speaker then turn off your TV? Then upon turning the items back on turn on your TV then speaker? Sometimes this will improve the connectivity as the speakers will always seek to connect to the last connected Bluetooth device upon being turned on.

The blue light is flashing at 1 flash per second.
I did what you suggested. After turning off and then connecting as you asked, then turning off the TV again, got the same result, after turning on the TV again, it would not automatically connect.
