I have the same question...is there a manual mode on the Insignia 8 qt pressure cooker, model NS-MC80SS9. There is no preset for hard boiled eggs and all the hard boiled egg recipes say to put the cooker on manual 5 minutes. What is the method/directions to use on this cooker?

In reviewing the User Guide for this product on Insignia's website, it looks like once you select the cooking program (except Rice/Risotto and Sear/Sauté), you should be able to manually change the cooking time to suite the dish, food quantities, and food manufacturer instructions. Once the program is selected, press the Time Cook button and then use the + or - buttons to adjust the minutes. If you don't select the Time Cook button within 10 seconds of pressing the program button, the cooker should use the default time associated with the program. Something else to note is that if you select the Slow Cook or Keep Warm programs, press the Time Cook button once to modify the hours (in 1-hour increments) or twice to modify the minutes (in 10-minute increments).
