I have a model NS-AF32DBK9 air fryer. The recipe book with it says I can use cooking spray on the basket, but I've read online that PAM spray is not recommended for air fryers in general. So I wanted to know if it is safe or not to use it in my air fryer.

Welcome back to our community, ronheller.
On reviewing this product's User Guide, the use of a cooking spray is not specifically called out. It does state, however:
This air fryer works with hot air. Do not fill the pan with oil or any liquid.
I recommend reviewing the User Guide before using this product. If needed, for additional assistance, please contact Insignia Support at (877) 467-4289.
I hope this helps. Thank you for writing to us.

I did talk to Insignia support yeasterday. The agent originally said he would not recommend it but when I told him that the recipe book that comes with the product shows recipes that say to use cooking spray, he decided to escalate it to an engineer. The response he got was that it's perfectly OK to use it and that using it would not affect the warranty. I'm still not 100% convinced.

Thank you for following up with me! I really appreciate the additional insight.
I'm glad the agent with whom you spoke was able to get advice from the engineer. It's been my experience after years of working with our Best Buy brands team that they honestly do know the products inside and out as they set the design specifications for them.
However, on a personal note, I always err on the side of my common sense just as you do. The product has a non-stick surface and a specific process is described in the User Guide for coating french fries in oil outside the fryer before cooking (as an example), so that may be an option when necessary. I underscore my previous recommendation to have a gander at the User Guide when you have some time.
I apologize for any ambiguity. If I had more definitive information to resolve your doubt, I would certainly share it.
