We have a ~6 year old Insignia 7 cu ft chest freezer (NS-CZ70WH0) that recently stopped freezing items near the top of the freezer. Items in the middle and bottom do still freeze (at least for now).

This morning, I took everything out, completely defrosted the freezer, put everything back in, and placed some new items (bags of breastmilk) on the top. 8 hours later, and they still haven't frozen at all. In the past, they would be completely frozen within several hours.

Anyone have any tips on what else I can do to potentially fix the freezer?

And yes, the temperature dial is turned to "max" 😁

Welcome to the Best Buy Forums! I certainly understand it's never ideal when a freezer isn't keeping a consistent temperature throughout the unit like this. One tip to maximize the efficiency of your freezer and occasionally solve issues like this, is to clean out the condenser coils on the unit. On your chest freezer, these are most likely located underneath the unit, and may require removing a panel to access them. You can use a vacuum to to remove any dirt and dust that has accumulated.
