What does the E64 error means? The manual doesn't explain anything. The washing machine is properly powered and the panel works correctly. The door locks and unlocks fine. The water inputs are working fine, and the filter is clean. However for some reason when I start a cycle, the washing machine refuses to start moving the drum, it locks the door, and just sits there and the time starts going down until the E64 appears on the panel. The drum is not obstructed and can be spin manually? real mystery here.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out about this and welcome to our online community! I'm concerned to hear that you're running into an error code on your washer. I can certainly imagine how frustrating that could be. In other units, this is something that could pertain to either the child lock or a part on the motor. Since yesterday, have you seen any change in the functionality or is the issue still persisting?

The issue started on Sunday and still persists... Everything is fine, but once I select a cycle, the washer proceeds to lock the door just fine and just stalls there while the timer continues to decrease until eventually the E64 error appears on the screen, so I turn it off and the door is eventually unlocked. It is quite a mystery. 

I would be surprised if a part of the motor failed. This washing machine is less than 1 year old.

That's very interesting!! So, everything goes well up until the error code. The door locks as it should, you're able to start the load, but then the error comes on. Were you having any issues with the washer rattling side to side? In other words, are we certain the washer is on flat ground? I have seen a similar error and issue like this before and just want to rule it out.

I would be surprised if the motor failed too. If that were the case, and it is under a year old, that should make the process a lot easier though!

The washer was installed by Best Buy technicians on a flat ground, but yes sometimes with a heavy load it would rattle side by side during a spinning cycle, otherwise it would stay normal for all the cycles. I tried to minimize this by not putting the spin setting on high, and just on medium setting, you think something may have come loose?. 

I am not an expert, so I just checked all the basics, electric input, water inputs, door locking and filter. they all seem fine.

Yea, I hope so. Unfortunately, I am in an area code where Insignia is not able to find technicians available at the moment which is frustrating.

Great to know! Thanks for that! It sounds like you've done most of the basic troubleshooting, which can definitely find most issues. Oh shoot! That's certainly frustrating. I can double check that and see if there's anything we could do. At this point, could I actually have you reach out to me through a Private Message? Then we can look into maybe sending an agent out there. If that's not possible, I'll see if I can find any information on this error and go from there.

Just want to follow up on this thread to thank Caleb and Best Buy's technicians for resolving the washine machine issues within a reasonable time frame given the difficulties of the mechanicals problems.
