2 questions.

1. Are this units not able to reach the temp set on the door? My freezer is set to -5 and seems to mostly be at 0, while the refrigerator is set to 35 (the lowest setting) and is mostly at 40. 40 is a dangerous zone for meat. Temperature is being measured by a thermometer hanging under the to top shelf.

2. When the freezer door is shut it makes a brief sound, which i assume it is doing some sort of vacuum sealing. The refrigerator doesn't, which I would like to know if that is normal. Is it benefical for the refrigerator to do the same?
