Hello. I received a dell 2 in 1 laptop for the holidays. I just began using the last couple of weeks. The entire laptop screen began flickering and hasn’t stopped. I brought it in to the store and I was informed that since it’s outside of the exchange/return timeframe there was nothing they could do. Can anyone help me get an exchange approved? It’s not right that the laptop is brand new and the screen is already malfunctioning. Please allow to exchange it rather than having someone attempt to fix it.

I know laptop malfunctions happen sometimes, but the return and exchange policy won't account for this even outside the window of return. If you return it to the store and you tried to get a manager or supervisor to help in this matter and they said no, generally it would mean their word is final. 


You are more than welcome to speak to a Best Buy moderator about this but they may echo the same information and policies the store presented to you.


Any exception they make is outside of Best Buy's Official return and exchange policy.

Welcome to our Forums. We appreciate you taking the time to correspond here. I know it's disappointing to discover a new item is defective. Hockeycanuckjc is correct, this is outside of our Return Policy, which was extended to January 14th, 2023 for items purchased during our holiday period of October 24, 2022 to December 31, 2022. If no Geek Squad Protection was purchased, the only recourse would be to contact the manufacturer for their options under their manufacturing warranty. While I know that is not the answer you were looking for and I empathize with your situation, we would not be able to exchange the item.
