Exchange issue

My sister bought my wife a kitchenaid mixer on sale on 11/29 for $250 for Xmas. We attempted to exchange today for a different color. No longer on sale, so they said no exchange unless we pay the $212 difference. Same mixed, different color. Never experienced anything like this before. Is this typical?

Yes, a return/exchange for the same unit (same upc and sku) during the return period will net an even exchange, if you pick up an alternate product (different upc and sku) the product will ring up at the current price and the difference will need to be collected.

Thanks. Seems odd that they wouldn’t honor changing color for the same price because color is apparently a different either upc or sku. Very disappointing.
