At this point I dont think anyone should use the BestBuy.com site for online purchasing. They are known for stealing funds, and there have been at least 50 complaints on this board about Best Buy stealing, and holding money from refunds or cancelled orders.
They stole my money DAYS before Christmas, and still refuse to refund my $1500 order that they cancelled.
I made a purchase on Best Buy.com fro a computer that I would pick up in-store. They cancelled that oder, and I was told by the employees of that store that they didn't have any in-stock, and to re-order from a different location. I was refunded immediately for this order, through paypal, in less than 15 minutes....BUT....and lsiten carefully....I proceeded to place another order for the computer at another location, and soon after it was cancelled as well...BUT THIS TIME I wasn't refunded.
In fact, I called the store and this time they told me they hadn't gotten ANY online orders, and they couldn't even see my oder in their system. This was strange because they could see the order at the other location, no problem.
It's been almost a week and Best Buy refuses to initiate a refund.
I know for a FACT that it's possible to get a same-day refund, and I've waited almost an entire WEEK.
This is obviously a glitch in their system that they're refusing to fix.
Paypal cannot release the funds until my order has been processed completely, and that cannot happen until Best Buy decided to release the funds because the order is cancelled.
Best Buy is a greedy company and they want tnothing than to inconvinience the people that still purchase from them.
The computer was close to $1500, and because it was getting close to Christmas I went ahead and bought the computer in-person.
So NOW my family has $1500 of our hard-earned money in Best Buy LIMBO because this greedy company can't simply process the refund so I can have access to my funds.
I've made 3 calls to Paypal, and they told me what I know is true: That they process refunds imediately if the merchant (Best Buy) fully completes the transation and cancels the order.
I've also made 5 calls to Best Buy, and other than lying to me about the refund time (They said it could take 30-days, yet I've already gotten a same-day refund from them, so I know it's possible and a standard practice), someone with a foreign accent in a callcenter in WHO KNOWS WHERE actually asked me to call my bank on a 3-way call to discuss this.
This was SO inappropriate that an employee from Best Buy would ask me to call a financial institution, and listen in while I give the last four of my ss# and other identifying information in order to try and fix a situaiton that is CLEARLY Best Buys fault.
They CAN cancel out order and give same-day refunds (After all, I recieved one less than a week agao!) But they're choosing NOT to.
My family works hard for our money and the last thing we should have to do, ESPECIALLY after going out and actually purchasing a $1500 computer from Best Buy in person, is let Best Buy hold ANOTHER $1500 of our hard-earned dollars.
Thank GOD my family is financially stable enough to not imemdiately need the $1500 they stole from us...but it's STILL our money and it's still sad that Best Buy is ripping people off during this time of year or AT ALL.
I can't imagine being a family that saved money for christmas gifts for their kids, and but due to FRAUD they have their money stolen and their kids end up without presents because they decided to grab a good deal and order online.
Best Buy customer service is horrible, and they will lie to you every day of the week just to get you off the phone. If you dont want to be taken advantage of, please buy in-person, or simply don't shop at Best Buy at all.
We are a Military family, and we work hard for our money. The fact that Best Buy is so casually stealing from us and ripping off MANY others should make you think twice before spending your hard-earned money in their establishments.

Funny thing is that issue was shortly resolved after complaining on THIS board.
Think about why that is, and think twice before putting your money in the hands of people who are careless, and dont beleive in customer service or doing the right thing.
At the end of the day it's the holiday season and NO ONE should be trying to figure out where almost $1500 of their hard-earned dollars are.
I thought ordering online was the smart and convinient thing to do for a busy family, and I was wrong.
If you're reading this and are thinking of buying online please go elsewhere.

Jdogg gave a very good answer and I guarentee the moderator is going to say the same thing. Paypal returns take awhile. I stopped using Paypal for most things because of this.

Please don't listen to these people claiming it's only Paypal.
Notice that they can't seem to explain the first time I got a SAME-DAY refund.
Before you people say its paypal, please explain why my first cancelled order refunded within 15 minutes.
If you can't explain that it's CLEAR that you're just saying whatever you need in order to make Best Buy look good.

Seems shady to me, I posted in the right section.
All of this manipulation when you could just give me my money back.
