I went in store tonight to return a christmas gift i had received, pokemon lets go for swtich. I told the person at customer service i didnt have a receipt as it was a gift and I didnt want it since i already purchased the game when it first came out. We tried looking up the receipt from my family members phone number but could not locate it and wasnt sure if they had used a different phone number or no phone number at all. The employee then asked for my number since i had bought the game. Once i gave it to him, he instantly processed the refund using my receipt. I explained to him that I didnt want to use my receipt since i bought the game using a discount code and my refund would only be $35 when my family member just paid $60. I was told "its too late i already processed the refund." This is unnacceptable as i returned a $60 item for $35 and i didnt even get my discount code back to use again.

Welcome back to the Best Buy Community forums. I apologize for the delay in getting back to you on this. We’ve been very busy with the holiday season, and it’s taking longer than we’d like to reply to everyone.
Under our Return & Exchange Promise, a receipt is needed to process a return. That said, the employee you worked with should not have processed the return off of a receipt for a different purchase. I’d very much like to look into this for you.
Please send me a private message, through the link in my signature, with your name, email address, phone number and the customer service PIN from your return receipt, if you have it.
