My order got canceled after I verified it 3 times

I ordered a software music recording program and an imac in december and everything seemed ok until I picked up the first part of the order. That afternoon I received a text and email that I needed to verify my payment option. I did, then I got and email saying thanks. About 5 minutes later I received another email saying that my order could not be verified again, and I needed to verify the credit card. I then called customer service and verified my best buy credit card again. They took forever and said that I would receive an email. I didnt so I called the bestbuy credit card number. They said there was nothing wrong and that they approved the charge two weeks ago. I then received another email saying everything was on track. That night around 12am I get two texts from the fraud department saying my order will be canceled if I don’t verify that I made the order. I also received a call around 8am that morning saying the same thing. I called the number back and it was an automated voice saying press 1 if you recognize this charge, press 2 if not. Of course I pressed 1. They said ok, that was it. When I checked my order status online it was canceled.
This was a Christmas present. Bestbuy ruined my husbands Christmas cause he has software and no computer to use it. I tried to see if I can order it at the store but the 18 month promotional finance is now over. I cannot pay this computer in 12 months at 233.00 a month. This is The Worst ordering system and customer care I have ever delt with. I will tell everyone I know not to order from Bestbuy online.

Thanks very much for joining us at the Best Buy Community forums. I’m sorry to hear that your order was cancelled due to a payment issue. 


We are not able to un-cancel an order once it has been cancelled, and we do not have a mechanism to offer a now-expired financing promotion.


It sounds like those text messages and phone call you received were through Citibank, the company that services the My Best Buy credit cards. My best advice for you would be to reach out to them directly at (888) 574-1301 to see if there’s anything they can do to assist you with this, as they would be in control of any promotional financing offers.


They may be able to at least better explain why the payment didn’t go through, and offer you advice on avoiding this in the future.

I did call Citibank and they told me that the payment was approved on December 22. Then they continued to say that the onous is on Bestbuy.com.
