Exchange/Return Policy Complaint

I purchased a beats solo3 wireless as a Christmas present while I was visiting family in Montana (no sales tax, happen to be on sale at the time). However the color I bought was wrong so I went to exchange the gift, never opened still sealed, for a different color. 

Due to the fact I was now trying to the exchange the gift in Washington (has sales tax and after the sale had ended) I was going to be charged the 60 dollar difference between the on sale price and regular price, plus the sales tax which was an extra ~$35 all for simply wanted a different color of the exact same product. 

 

I hope you reconsider this in the future as many companies have improved the exchange policy to accommodate the move towards online shopping. I will not be shopping at best buy for gifts anymore as it is simply too risky if I purchase the wrong color of a product.

Hello Mariah,

 

This seems like a misleading exchange policy. Its not in fact an exchange. Its a return with a purchase of a new item which is quit different then a exchange of just swapping out a product. It seems its actually impossible to do an exchange since every single item/color will be a different "product".

 

I have also never heard of different colors being considered different products, different skus sure but different products seems like a supply chain nightmare. You should provide better information to the customer that you consider different colors to be completely separate items and you cannot in fact exchange them across colors without returning and purchasing a new product.
