Hello!

I'm interested in purchasing the ASTI - Sound Sleep SE Therapy System (sound machine).   It's listed on BestBuy.com as model number HCSE1005, currently selling for 199.99.   I've  owned the standard model for a few years now and this new model seems to offer a few new capabilities and features.

However, before making any purchase, I'm trying to research the product.   Unfortunately, when visiting the manufacturers website, they do not list a model  HCSE1005, but instead they list only a model ASM1005.  Also an online  search for the HCSE1005 seems to only direct me back to Best Buy.  When compariing the Mfr. specs of the ASM1005 to the HCSE1005 offered by Best Buy, they appear to be identical.  Also, the marketing photo used for both models is the same, and the product description is also word-for-word identical.

The reason for my question is that the HCSE1005 sells for $50.00 more than the ASM1005 offered directly on the manufacturers website. (The ASM11005 is also sold by another major retailer for even less than that.)   Obviously, because of the difference in model numbers, the Best Buy offering is not eligible for price matching.  (Understood!)

So, I'm assuming that for Best Buy to be charging a subtantial premium for the HCSE1005, it must offer some advantage over the ASM1005 that's sold elsewhere.  And since the HCSE1005 appears to be (currently) only available through Best Buy, I'm figuring that you folks should know what advantages this model has over tfhe ASM1005.  Thus my question ... where and how can I obtain that information so that I understand what the additional $50.00 will be getting me?

Welcome to our forum! I can understand your confusion between the ASTI - Sound Sleep SE Therapy System (sound machine) model HCSE1005 and the model  ASM1005. I was curious as well so I did some research online, and found, like you, that they seem to have the same specifications; therefore, I will be reaching out to our internal team to see if they can solve our mystery. Obviously you haven't yet received any more information about the product, but I guess all is good. 

I just noticed today that the HCSE1005 has gone on sale (BestBuy.com).  At least for now, it's selling for less than the comparable ASM1005 sold by the manufacturer.  So, I placed my order for one today.   I guess I'll find out what the differences are when I receive the unit.    Thanks again.

I'm sorry I haven't followed up with you, but I have not heard back from my internal team. I'm glad to hear the HCSE1005 is lower in price, and it is my understanding they are exactly the same, but I still need to confirm this with the appropriate team. I'll update you as soon as I have more information.

Thanks so much for your effort, Maria.

In fact, the product did arrive from Best Buy and I was surprised to see that both the outer packaging and the instruction manual both refer to it as the ASM1005.  So, you're very correct ... it has the same specs because it appears to be the same model, but just given a different model number.
