I used to be able to install updates just fine but the update now wants 3gb free space on the watch. I don't recall having this much difficulty updating before. I read online someone people unpaired their watch, reset the watch to default and then updated just fine.

Hello, hockeycanuckjc,
Hope all is well with you! Looking over the Apple site, they also mention "If you have Apple Watch Series 3, skip directly to the steps to unpair and update your Apple Watch." This should address the issue, and allow you to update it. If you have any other issues with this, be sure to reach out to Apple. As always, thank you for posting!
Kind regards,

I just wanted to say that unpairing worked in this case as I had not used my Apple Watch for a long time since this post I started wearing it again and its working now.
