Shipment Delay

This is my first time writing something here but I have to express my disappointment in Best Buy. So, I pre-ordered New Super Mario Bros. U and few other things way back on November 21st. I keep checking my e-mail these past few days to see if I got a shipment confirmation for the game. Nothing. I check my order status and it says "preparing". I finally get an e-mail in the early morning hours of Jan. 11 and to my disappointment it says that the game that I pre-ordered almost 2 months ago is delayed. What the hell does that even mean? Delayed how? Didn't get the shipment from Nintendo? Forgot my order? No explanation. It also says it could take up to 30 days to fulfill the order! How does a game I pre-ordered months in advance get delayed? Why should I even bother pre-ordering then if this is whats going to happen. I can easily just go to my local Gamestop and pick one up but I chose to put my faith in Best Buy to deliver what I ordered on time like they say they will. When it says "get it by" release day, I expect to get it on that day, not wait for whenever Best Buy feels like they wanna ship my item. Am I in dire need of this game right this second, No. But thats not the point. The point is don't promise something you can't deliver on. Even worse is that you can't make changes or cancel it once its in the final stages of being prepared and/or shipped. So you're basically stuck waiting on Best Buy.


Also, I have 2 copies each of Onimusha and RE2 Deluxe Edition for Xbox One pre-ordered. 2 for me and 2 for my brother. Now I see my copy that I pre-ordered also on Nov. 21st says "preparing". My brothers copy just says "pre-ordered". But a friend of mine who just pre-ordered Onimusha the other day got a shipment confirmation today while my 2 copies are in limbo. Hey Best Buy is there something wrong with my account, is my money not green. I don't get it. It almost feels personal at this point. 


What I will probably do is cancel the 2 Resident Evil 2's and get them from somewhere else, even if I have to pay more. I'm scared that this will happen to that game as well. My brother and I have been anticipating RE2 for a long time and want to dive in like everyone else as soon as it releases and not when Best Buy feels they can ship it out when they feel like it. I use the Gamers Club Unlocked to get a discount and buy my games from Best Buy. But its not worth it if I have to get my games late while everyone else gets to play them on release. There is also a good chance that Best Buy will lose me as a customer going forward. With so many big box stores going bankrupt and closing you would think companies would do their best to keep customers happy. Doesn't seem like it with Best Buy. Everyone whines that Amazon is taking over and sales are down, but do nothing to improve their services. Keep it up Best Buy and you'll join the ranks of Toys 'R Us, Sears, etc. I see a "Going Out of Business" sign in your future. Sound harsh? Well then don't frustrate loyal customers with sub-par service and excuses.

Although I wish your visit were under more fortunate circumstances, I do appreciate you taking the time to join our Community to share your feedback with us.  I know how frustrating an order delay can be, and hearing this has happened to a few of your recent orders is especially disheartening.


We strive to ship pre-orders as soon as they are received in our fulfillment centers, with the goal of ensuring timely delivery of a pre-ordered item on, or around, the release date of the product.  While we’re hopeful your game will arrive to you on release day, there can be logistics or supply issues outside of our control that may delay your game’s delivery.  I apologize for any frustration these order delays have caused you, and I recommend keeping an eye on your email inbox and order status page for any updates regarding your order.

Haha, wow this situation just got better. I finally received a shipping confirmation. My expected delivery date for New Super Mario Bros. U is Tuesday Jan. 15th. "Get it by release date"! Best Buy boasts.....what a joke. I'm getting something I pre-ordered months in advance 4 days late for no reason at all.  "Logistics or supply issues", but when I go to Gamestop or even a Best Buy store they have a ton just sitting on the shelf but I get screwed and my order couldn't be filled. The purpose of pre-orders is to see how many units you need to get to satisfy customers who want an item. You don't offer a pre-order and then send it whenever you feel like it. Good thing I didn't need this game for a gift. I guess I can expect my Onimusha not on the 15th which is the release date but maybe the week after or maybe in February, who knows with Best Buy anymore. Instead of "Get it by (date)" it should just say "Expected Delivery: RANDOM". Just give them your money for empty promises. What's going to happen now is as soon as Super Mario and Onimusha arrive I will go to Best Buy and get a refund, then I will cancel all my remaining orders. I will NEVER step foot in a Best Buy store or buy a single thing online from them ever. The only thing you companies know is money and not giving you any is the only way to hurt you. I wholeheartedly hope Best Buy does go out of business. Absolutely disgusting.
