I have this item on preorder:
Is the included code for the Bethesda launcher or Steam? Both launchers are getting the game day one next week.

The game client does not matter for the game code. the code is generated by Bethesda and you can apply it to any client that supports the game.

Hello there, shanafan,
Thank your for stopping back by the Best Buy forums for assistance with your digital code. Our dear friend, bobberuchi, is likely correct with the information that he's provided, but I'm wanting to let you know that we're working with our gaming support team to make sure it can be redeemed in either place. Once we have more information from them, we'll stop back by to update the post!

Some developers do strangle you into one client if they have a client. Then after several months open it up to others.
Ubisoft comes to mind with The Division 2. Steam originally had a product page for TD2 but that went away
It is a huge money thing. Steam takes more of a cut on the games they support.
I recently started using Epic as a Game Client and I am thinking I prefer it over Steam.
I am now playing Far Cry New Dawn and I have not had a single client crash on Epic. Where as another game on Steam is constanly doing down.

Hello again, shanafan,
I've heard back from our gaming support team who has informed me that the codes are being redeemed through Bethesda's website. Hope this helps and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Rage 2 is being sold on Steam so you can plunk in your code there first and give it a whirl
