Playstation Plus and Playstation Now

If I purchase Plus and Now via Sony it will automatically renew every year.

If I buy it on Best Buy dot com will it still automatically renew?

I am picking up my console today and need to decide if I should get those 2 things as well or do it through my Sony account.

Advice.

Re: Playstation Plus and Playstation Now

Good morning, Bobberuchi!

Thanks for reaching out about this and asking a great question! Whether you purchase Playstation Plus or Playstation Now through us or through your Sony account, once you activate it in your system, it will turn on automatic renewal. If you have a credit card saved on your account, it'll pull from that in the next cycle. If that's not ideal, you can cancel that renewal when the time comes. I'll post a couple excerpts from both our site and Sony about this down below.

"Your 12-month membership subscription will renew automatically and $59.99 + applicable tax will be deducted from your PlayStation™ Network (“PSN”) account wallet every 12 months until you cancel." - pulled from our site.

"If your wallet has insufficient funds, your PSN account’s default payment method will be charged. To cancel, go to [Settings]>[Account Management]>[Account Info]>[PlayStation Subscriptions] on PS4 or see “How to Cancel” below. Enrolling in service turns on your PSN wallet’s automatic funding setting. Price may change. No refunds." - Sony.

I hope this helps out! Please let me know if you have further questions.

Re: Playstation Plus and Playstation Now

Thanks,

I would rather have it renew via Best Buy so I can get the rewards.  And I know from having a prior subscription to Web Root it is easy to cancel.

I have my BB credit card as my default payment.

Re: Playstation Plus and Playstation Now

No problem!

Perfect!! So, if you purchase the subscription through us, and then have your Best Buy card attached to your Playstation account, you should be all set! It definitely makes it easier when most of your subscriptions go through one card.

Re: Playstation Plus and Playstation Now

I just stopped in and got a second PS5 controller and both subscriptions.

I entered the codes on the Playstation web site which was smooth.

I did some browsing and it brought up a new question.

When it says I get  X number of games a month free, are they only for that month?  It shows subscription.

Re: Playstation Plus and Playstation Now

You get to keep them in your library permanently but are only playable if you keep your sub.

With XBOX, The XBOX 360 and XBOX original games stay in your library regardless of subscription , but those for XBOX One / S /X will show the GOLD notation so if you let your subscription lapse, you will not be able to play them until you subscribe again
