Wow is has been 7 years since the PS4
Personally I would hold off on pre-ordering for a bit
Responing is that there will most likely be special editions coming out in the next 5 months.
I am betting there will be an Assassins Creed: Valhalla edition or Star Wars Squadrons
I remember when the PS3 came out Sony could not supply the demand so people were selling them for quite the markup.
PS4 was released with so much quantity I was able to walk in and buy one off the shelf a couple days after release.

I'll be pre-ordering at Best Buy and at another retailer in case one gets cancelled. I'm getting the disc version PS5 because I can get game discs for much cheaper than digital. If money wasn't an issue, I'd go for the all digital editon.
It's gonna be an expensive year for console gaming. PS5 will probably be $500 and controllers will maybe be $70-80 because of the new tech Sony is putting into their "DualSense" controllers. Including one game, total comes to around $630.
I'm only getting one game at launch and that one game would be Gran Turismo 7. Okay, it's doubtful GT7 will be a launch game, but if it is, I'm getting it. I may hold off playing Last of Us II until I get a PS5, hoping that the game will run and look better on next gen hardware.

I don't have a 4k tv, but will get one around the launch of the PS5/XSX. I'm thinking of getting the 32" 4k Samsung. It's a lot at $500 for a 32 inch, hopefully it will be cheaper during the holidays.

If I get a larger size 4k tv, it would actually be cheaper in price. The Samsung 32" 4k TV is the only one available. There's no other 4k television that's 32 inches and it's priced at $500. I've watched the price for like a year now and I've only seen it drop to $480. Only a $20 discount.
