Bought an Xbox online(Best Buy) with in store pickup and package said that there should be subscription code on the receipt. Online receipt has no code and folks in store could not help.
Called Best Buy and they said this is known issue and there should be code in the box, double checked but box has no codes. There is 14 day code gold membership code and no 3 month code.

Hello and welcome, Hsbuttar,
I’m not a big gamer myself, but I’ve used many subscriptions to know that an activation code of some sort is almost always crucial to redeeming your membership. I’m sorry for the troubles you’ve had with your Xbox Gold Subscription thus far, but I’ll be happy to step in and see how I can help.
In order for me to do so, I’ll need some additional information from you first. When you can, please send me a private message with the following details:

I look forward to hearing from you.

If you have similar issues (you bought around Christmas), here’s the response from Best Buy expert:
I can understand the confusion with the card coming attached to the box. This is actually not included with your purchase but can be purchased in one of our stores. The regular pricing for that is typically in the top right-hand corner of the box. The only code included in this would be the one that you received for 14 days.

essentially, you get the card if you buy in store but if you buy online and pick up in store you won’t. Weird indeed. Bought something at Best Buy after 10 years and it seems they still don’t treat there customers well. Should have stayed with my regular warehouse store.
