I'm interested in the Final Fantasy 7 remake and am planning on pre-ordering it. I'd really like to know if there's a midnight/early release for it. Reading other forum posts I saw a link to this page: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/video-games/best-buy-gaming-events/pcmcat183100050001.c?id=pcmcat183100... (The link might've changed since I went forward a few months). On this page, Final Fantasy 7 remake is listed, so does that mean I can count on some sort of event?
The reason that I ask is because I'm debating between 2 store pickups or delivery. My local Best Buy never does midnight releases, and the next closest one is twice as far away. I don't want to set up for store pickup from there without some sort of release event, but I'd be willing to drive double the distance to get it earlier. Do all stores do 9pm releases for early releases (when the games have them, of course)?

I would not count on FFVII being on the midnight release list. Currently the only game on the list is the new Pokeman game. However, it is still 10 months away and something could change.
No not all stores have 9pm release. Only Pacific Time stores do that.

Jump on your Chocobo and head to Best Buy - the Final Fantasy VII Remake is expected to release March 2020! We don't have any details available about any potential late-night releases, but keep an eye on that Gaming Events Calendar for any updates. Gaming Events will usually be displayed above the "Featured game release dates" section. The titles mentioned below the "Featured game release dates" section will not necessarily have late-night releases. You're still welcome to place your pre-order now. This title is currently listed as being eligible for our Get $10 in Rewards promotion.
When will we know? Who is hiding this information from us? Sephiroth!? Did Sephiroth do this to our Gaming Events Calendar? Hmm... if there is a sudden drop in available Moderators, you know who we're busy fighting.

I noticed the date at Checkout says that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will ship/be ready for pickup on April 10th and currently has this as the release date on the games Best Buy PS4 page. Everywhere else says March 3rd. Which one is it?

Great question! It looks like Fizziii beat me to the punch here, and they’re absolutely correct. Square Enix announced recently that they’ll be pushing back the release date of the Final Fantasy VII Remake from March 3 to April 10. As disappointing as this delay might be, hopefully it will be the only necessary delay, and we’ll be returning to Gaia in no time.
