Hi! I purchased an Xbox Gift Card on bb.com on November 1st, and sat down to redeem on my Microsoft account today. The code, which I just scratched to reveal this afternoon, had already been redeemed (I triple checked!). I called Microsoft support directly and they also confirmed the code had been redeemed by another account, and asked I contact Best Buy support next.
What steps may I take to redeem the amount?
Thanks so much.

Good morning, MRLavoie85,
Welcome back to our community forums. I purchase quite a few gift cards online and can imagine your surprise to get a notification that this card had already been redeemed. I would be glad to give you some more information on what options are available to get help moving forward.
When making these purchases on our website, this code is issued directly from Microsoft. To get more assistance with this purchase I would recommend continuing to work with Microsoft Support to see how they can help.
Please let me know if you have any other questions I can help with!

Hi, Andrew, thanks for the reply! I did some research here on the forums before posting, and noted the most common step was to contact Microsoft directly. I have done so, twice, and both times they have directed me back to the retailer. The last MS support person did confirm the code I purchased had in fact been redeemed to another account, completely unrelated to mine. I suppose I learned a lesson to purchase only digital gift cards from here on, but in the meantime I would very much like to recoup my $100.
I appreciate the differences in issuing and selling the code, and the difficulty in finding fault in the transaction. At the risk of getting caught in another loop between yourselves and Microsoft, are there any other steps available to me?

Andrew, circling back here - so far I have not had any success with Microsoft. I fully realize that neither Microsoft, Best Buy, or myself are to blame here, but the unfortunate fact remains that sometime between when Microsoft issued the gift card code and when it was delivered to me, the amount was stolen. Do I report the $100 as theft even though the act of theft itself took place prior to the card coming into my possession?
I get it's a tough spot to be in, but if anyone knows of anywhere else I can turn, I'm all ears.

Hello again, MRLavoie85,
Thanks for following up with us online about your Xbox gift card. I hate to hear you are still having issues getting support with this. As mentioned, Microsoft would be best able to assist, considering the code is issued from them. That said, I'm happy to review your account and purchase to begin formally documenting your experience in our corporate system.
To start, please send me a private message including your full name, email, phone number, and order number. You can find the blue option to message me to the right of my name below.
All the best,
